Together with the sanitary ware and the piping to the drain, there is a component that joins these 2 together. They are either normal or pop up wastes, p traps, s traps, sink or bath combination traps, silver bottle traps or shower brass traps.

Traps serve the purpose of keeping the smell of the sewer from entering the house via the drain pipes. They operate on a system of a water seal that is constantly in the pipe and prevents the smells from coming through the trap. They are normally fitted to basins, baths, sinks, and wash troughs.

The wastes come in 2 sizes, a 32mm for basins and a 40mm for baths and sinks. They can be a plain waste with a plug, or they can be a pop up waste. If pop up wastes are bought we would suggest GIO BELLA as when the o-ring wears out, spares will be easily available.

Other sanitary items have traps as well, it’s just that they are a bit different in appearance but the working principal is exactly the same. These would include urinals, grease traps and conservancy tanks. Below are a few examples of the other traps we have. They can fit most sanitary ware items and look a bit better than the normal traps.
