When installing a new kitchen sink and good silicone is required, it is best to clean away all dirt and spilt water first and make sure the sink fits perfectly in the cut out of the granite or melamine counter top. Then squeeze a generous amount of silicone on the underside of the sink or the edge of the counter top and push sink down into position. Fill the sink with water and clean off excess silicone. Leave to dry for at least 6 hours or up to 24 hours.
